Giro del Belvedere unveils a new location to celebrate its centenary

The international U23 cycling classic, to be held on Easter Monday, April 10th, will enjoy a unique setting at Villa Brandolini Rota now Zanussi, a XVII century building in the heart of Cordignano (Treviso, North-East Italy)

With less than three months to go, the centennial year’s edition of Giro del Belvedere keeps the preparations going towards the event in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso, North-East Italy) scheduled on Monday, April 10th. Among the initiatives dedicated to the century milestone symbolized by the special golden logo, the U23 international race will involve local excellences to enhance its connection with the territory even further.

Indeed, the preliminary operation of the 2023 edition will kick off from the heart of Cordignano, by the stunning Villa Brandolini Rota now Zanussi, a historic building boasting great history and a magnificent park. Teams’ presentation and technical briefing will be held there, as well as a welcome party for sponsors, authorities and guests. After that, the riders will move until the traditional starting line in Villa di Villa, where the start of the 84th edition is expected at 1.30 pm CET.

Built in the second half of the 17th century by order of Gregorio Rota, Villa Brandolini Rota Zanussi is one of the symbols of the community and played important historical roles over the centuries, hosting a military hospital during WWI. The location has turned into a resort nowadays while a fine-wine producing activities  is still ongoing. The collaboration with Giro del Belvedere springs from the strengthened relationships  among the organizers of the Pro Belvedere, the Municipality of Villa di Cordignano, Antonia Zanussi of the Brandolini Rota Zanussi Resort and Count Brandino Brandolini d’Adda for the wine cellar barchessa.

The news regarding the centennial edition of the Easter Monday Classic are not over yet­. The traditional 166.2-km route will also feat a little restyling, even though the iconic Conche and Montaner climbs will remain unchanged.
