With 19 international teams, and 24 Continental squads, the Easter Monday classic (April 21) gears up for another great edition. Among the top contenders are Visma Lease a Bike, Red Bull Bora hansgrohe, Bahrain Victorious and Bardiani
Giro del Belvedere is getting ready to host another memorable edition. The Easter Monday Classic, scheduled for April 21 in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso), will welcome 35 teams, with an impressive 19 coming from abroad, representing 15 Countries, further cementing the event’s prestigious standing beyond Italian borders.
The number of Continental teams represents a new record, with 24 in total. The race will showcase fierce competition and spectacular sceneries, featuring the best U23 teams battling in what’s known as a “Spring World Championship.” The global dimension of the Giro del Belvedere becomes evident when listing the participating nations, ranging from Mexico to Australia, including a strong contingent of European teams (9 countries beyond Italy, with Germany bringing 4 teams), and extending to the Middle East and Kazakhstan.
Leading the pack are the defending champions UAE Team Emirates Gen-Z, who triumphed in 2024 thanks to Slovenian rider Gal Glivar, perfectly launched on the final straight by teammate Pablo Torres. Chasing victory will be various development squads from World Tour teams, starting with – as often happens among the Pros – Visma | Lease a Bike, followed by Red Bull – Bora – hansgrohe, Bahrain Victorious, Hagens Bermans Jayco, XDS Astana, and Lotto Kern-Haus PSD Bank.
Italy’s best chances are with the professional formation VF Group – Bardiani CSF – Faizanè, alongside Continental teams such as Biesse Carrera Premac, UC Trevigiani – Energiapura Marchiol, MHB Bank Ballan CSB, and Team Technipes #inEmiliaRomagna. The latter two are coming off podium finishes last year with Donati and Crescioli, and will be looking to at least match those excellent results.
To win the 86th edition of the Easter Monday Classic, riders must conquer a course of 168 km with 2,085 meters of elevation gain: the same course which provided a great show in 2024. After the traditional 8 initial laps on the Conche circuit, there will be 5 passages up the Piai della Vigna ascent (500 meters at 9% with a peak of 15%), before entering the final circuit featuring the climbs of Montaner (1.5 km at 12%) and Via delle Longhe (500 meters at 12% with a peak of 17%).
