With 19 international teams, and 24 Continental squads, the Easter Monday classic (April 21) gears up for another great edition. Among the top contenders are Visma Lease a Bike, Red Bull Bora hansgrohe, Bahrain Victorious and Bardiani

Giro del Belvedere is getting ready to host another memorable edition. The Easter Monday Classic, scheduled for April 21 in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso), will welcome 35 teams, with an impressive 19 coming from abroad, representing 15 Countries, further cementing the event’s prestigious standing beyond Italian borders.

The number of Continental teams represents a new record, with 24 in total. The race will showcase fierce competition and spectacular sceneries, featuring the best U23 teams battling in what’s known as a “Spring World Championship.” The global dimension of the Giro del Belvedere becomes evident when listing the participating nations, ranging from Mexico to Australia, including a strong contingent of European teams (9 countries beyond Italy, with Germany bringing 4 teams), and extending to the Middle East and Kazakhstan.

Giro del Belvedere confirms its thrilling 168 km route

Following a spectacular 2024 edition, the organization of Pro Belvedere brings back the same route with start and finish in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso). On April 21st, the battle is on on the ascents of Piai della Vigna and Montaner

Preparation are in full swing for the 86th edition of Giro del Belvedere, scheduled for April 21-25 in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso). After careful consideration, the organization of Pro Belvedere opted to confirm the 168 km route tamed by Slovenian Glivar in 2024.

The course proved to be challenging and spectacular, on the line until the very end, and to be a solid test for the best U23 rising stars of international cycling. Glivar, who won wearing the UAE Gen Z jersey, has now entered the World Tour with the Alpecin-Deceuninck team. Through this achievement, Belvedere keeps its streak open: from 2013, every winner has made it to the pro peloton.

2024 introduced Giro del Belvedere into its second century of life, with a thrilling 85th edition on the line for the entire 168 km, before the decisive attack of Slovenian Gal Glivar on the final straight towards the finish line. Now the event looks forward and discussions arise on who will conquer the upcoming edition, scheduled for Monday, April 21, 2025, in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso, North-East Italy).

The triumph at the Easter Monday Classic marked the beginning of a great year for the Slovenian talent of Team UAE, retracing the steps of cycling great, Tadej Pogačar. Lately, the bond between Slovenia, UAE and cycling grows every day more. And that was again the case at the 85th Giro del Belvedere, staged today, April 1st, in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso, North East Italy). UAE Team Emirates Gen-Z Gal Glivar, 21-year-old rider of, raised his hands on the finish line after a thrilling Giro del Belvedere. One of the few accomplishments missed by one the greatest today’s cycling stars and fellow countryman, Tadej Pogačar, who recorded two top-10 but never got better than a 8th place.

Despite the heavy rain in the first part of the day, a massive crowd celebrated the Slovenian as well as an impressive performance by the Italian athletes as Davide Donati (Biesse-Carrera) and Ludovico Crescioli (Team Technipes #InEmiliaRomagna) rounded out the podium.

Easter Monday for cycling fans means Giro del Belvedere, and once again the Italian classic is poised to deliver a top-level race. On April 1st, the best riders of the U23 category will challenge each other in a quest for glory on the roads of Villa di Cordignano and Treviso’s province, in the Veneto region.

The 85th Giro del Belvedere kickstarts the second century of the event, whose first edition dates back to 1923. Over the decades, the race proved its significance by consecrating many young talents, who paved their way and established their bright careers by winning on the finish line in Cordignano: from Maurizio Fondriest, Silvio Martinello and Stefan Küng, to the latest trio of rising stars: Juan Ayuso in 2021, Romain Grégoire in 2022 and Johannes Staune-Mittet in 2023.

The time for Jørgen Nordhagen’s debut in a Visma-Lease a Bike Development Team jersey has finally arrived. The 19-year old Norwegian, will have his first official start in the U23 category on April 1st in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso, North-East Italy), for the 85th edition of Giro del Belvedere.

As it often happens in this generation of early-rising, multifaceted talents, the new rider of the Dutch Team is a real artist of the multidiscipline. Indeed, less than two months ago, on February 7th in Slovenia, he became Junior World Champion in Cross-Country Skiing on the 20 km mass start.

However, his career on the snow is now over, and the black and yellow Bees have great plans for his cycling future, as witnessed by a contract until 2027 and the step to the Pro peloton already scheduled for 2025.

Following solid performances in the Junior category, the 19-year old rookie of UAE Team Emirates Gen Z aims for a positive result at the Easter Monday Classic on April 1st: “The dream is to win, the top-5 a reasonable goal”

Luca Giaimi well represents this new era of cycling, made of young riders setting the tone since the very early stages of their careers. The 2005-born Italian athlete from Alassio (Liguria) has just ended his Junior years and he has already got his feet wet in the pro ranks with one of the strongest squads in the peloton, UAE Team Emirates. In fact, in 2024 Giaimi participated in events such as Vuelta a Murcia, Clasica de Almeria and Le Samyn, to start gaining experience at the highest level.

While setting up for the future, Giaimi’s present is the Under 23 category, in which he looks primed to collect more satisfaction before stepping up to the next level. Following a solid 2023 year, the talented Italian climber will be his team’s leader on April 1st: “I enjoy demanding races and I’m looking forward to leaving my mark at Giro del Belvedere”

Giulio Pellizzari, 20-years old climber from Marche, Italy, is coming off a positive year where he achieved second place in Tour de l’Avenir and Palio del Recioto, and a third place among pros at the Tour of the Alps.

Those results put his name on the radar, and now Pellizzari aims at confirmation with the VF Group Bardiani CSF Faizané. That’s why in 2024 he will ride for both the Under23 and the Pro peloton, trying to get a mix of races where he can go for gold and races where he will get experience in the bunch.

Among the races where he can be protagonist there’s definitely Giro del Belvedere, scheduled for Monday, April 1st, in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso).

Astana Qazaqstan Development Team’s Italian rider aims for gold at the 85th Giro del Belvedere (April 1st). “It’s a truly great Italian classic. Me against Team Visma? That’s a likely scenario”

Former Italian road Junior champion Alessandro Romele, 20-year-old rider from Lovere (Bergamo) – targets the Giro del Belvedere (1st April) following the best season of his early career, embellished by victories at Gran Premio Liberazione, Giro di Puglia Challenge U23, and Giro Next Gen’s stage 6.

With determination, talent, and eagerness to prove himself, Romele has earned a three-year contract with Astana Qazaqstan, to start with a transition year halfway the Development and the World Tour team (2024), before joining the pro bunch (2025 and 2026).

In the Easter Monday Classic, settled in Villa di  Cordignano (Treviso), Romele aims to be in the spotlights to give shape to his dreams: “One-day races surely are my favourite garden. Giro del Belvedere, one of the most important classics in Italy, is today’s target  while my future goals are Paris-Roubaix for its charm, and Milan-Sanremo for a bet with my grandfather“.

The first seasonal experiences, with the World Tour debut in the Clàssica Comunità Valenciana, AlUla Tour and Tour du Rwanda, have been fruitful. “It was a good glimpse of the professional world.
