Following a spectacular 2024 edition, the organization of Pro Belvedere brings back the same route with start and finish in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso). On April 21st, the battle is on on the ascents of Piai della Vigna and Montaner
Preparation are in full swing for the 86th edition of Giro del Belvedere, scheduled for April 21-25 in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso). After careful consideration, the organization of Pro Belvedere opted to confirm the 168 km route tamed by Slovenian Glivar in 2024.
The course proved to be challenging and spectacular, on the line until the very end, and to be a solid test for the best U23 rising stars of international cycling. Glivar, who won wearing the UAE Gen Z jersey, has now entered the World Tour with the Alpecin-Deceuninck team. Through this achievement, Belvedere keeps its streak open: from 2013, every winner has made it to the pro peloton.
As per tradition, the opening circuit will feature the “Conche” area, to be repeated 8 times. After that, the recently added climb of Piai della Vigna (500 metres at 9% with a 15% peak) will take the centre stage for 5 laps, making the first selection ahead of the final. The last and decisive challenge will be the Montaner ascent, climbed as usual from the side of Borgo Canalet (1.5 km at 12%), and the Via delle Longhe uphill (500 metres at 12% with a peak at 17%), which will crown the new king of the Easter Monday Classic.
“Never change a winning team. Last year’s edition has been thrilling, safe and spectacular - stated the organizers of Pro Belvedere –. We are looking forward to showcase our area and the best talents in cycling, and to bring these emotions back to our fans and to all bike enthusiasts”.
“Visto il grande spettacolo dello scorso anno – hanno commentato gli organizzatori della Pro Belvedere – abbiamo deciso di non apportare modifiche al percorso. Un tracciato duro, accattivante e sicuro, che da oltre cento anni mette in luce il nostro territorio a Pasquetta. Il nostro augurio è quello di un’altra edizione da ricordare che metta in mostra i campioncini del futuro.”
